In a survey of over 1,000 gamers, we discovered that the allure of fresh gaming experiences is undeniable. Our quest to unveil America’s gaming preferences involved an exhaustive analysis of Google search data encompassing 1,752 video game-related terms, spanning the period from April 2020 to April 2023. To add depth to our findings, we surveyed 1,006 self-identified gamers who dabble in handheld console games, esports, and virtual reality games. The respondents spanned ages from 18 to 60, with an average age of 35, and were comprised of 50% men, 48% women, and 2% non-binary individuals.
